Moore, Rex D.


Rex D. Moore, 48, formerly of Chester, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004.

He was born Dec. 3, 1955, in Sutton, W.Va., the son of Minnie Jo Goff Moore of Shinnston, W.Va, and the late Rev. Stanley P. Moore.

He was a Navy veteran and a graduate of Shinnston High School. A former millwright with the Homer Laughlin China Co., he was a member of Madison Trinity Church of West Point.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry Jarvis and Calvin Jarvis.

He is survived by two sons, Raymond Moore and his wife Trecia of Flemington, W.Va., and Jeremy Moore Sr. and his wife Stacey of East Liverpool; two grandsons, Jeremy Jr. and Sean Moore; three brothers, Roy Moore of Virginia, Frank Kimble of Florida and Joseph Moore of West Virginia; and six sisters, Dorothy Fisher, Arlene Fisher, Geraldine Pyles, Barbara Duncan, Olive Utt and Rev. Elizabeth Carson, all of West Virginia. He is also survived by the mother of his sons, Rebecca Haught of Newell.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the Newell Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Andrews officiating. Interment will follow at the Locust Hill Cemetery of Chester, where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will accord military services.
